ABOUT ME
Josephine Lofthouse
I am a qualified and experienced integrative counsellor and psychotherapist in Godalming, Surrey, working with adults and young people of all backgrounds. I bring considerable experience from the Priory Woking, Phyllis Tuckwell Hospice and a local college. I am BACP-Accredited, which means that I have met my professional body’s higher standard as a competent, ethical and independent practitioner.
I integrate three approaches:
person-centred, focused on accepting you as you are and supporting you to understand what you really want and be who you really are;
psychodynamic, focused on experiences in your past and how they might be affecting you and your relationships in the present;
Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy, where we work to identify unhelpful beliefs and patterns, and rewire your brain to respond differently.
I work on both a short or long term basis, depending on your needs. I accept AXA, Atena, Vitality, WPA and Healix insurance.
Before I became a therapist, I worked in the financial sector, in government, and then at director level in the not-for-profit sector. I spent a number of years living overseas in Europe, Africa and South-East Asia.
I work in a calm, welcoming room designed to help you feel at ease. If you think you might like to work with me, contact me to see if we are a good fit.
